I am powerful, I am grateful, I am safe, I am peaceful, I am loved, I am abundant, I can do and be anyone, I have the power to chose moment by moment how I react to the world, give to the world, create my reality and express myself authentic self fully.
I use mantras/positive affirmations in everyone of my classes. The biology of belief is REAL. How you think does completely alter your gene expression. Before you begin your practice this morning chose an affirmation that will support you in this moment. Repeat it at least five times. Holding your hands in a prayer next to your heart so you can feel your own heart and breath is extremely powerful during your mantras. Or look at your own eyes in the mirror and repeat your mantra without losing your focus. See into your own eyes.
Now you might not believe your mantra right now. Just keep repeating in your head or even better out loud. You will soon believe and become what you repeat.
Take a few breaths in between your movements when you need to calm your nervous system back down and repeat your mantras again. When your physical postures become more challenging breath more, smile more and repeat again.
Our bodies are much more capable then we give them credit. It is the belief in yourself that matters most. Trust yourself to hold. The body will do it. Witness how much more ease happens in your body as your thoughts begin to shift to support your practice rather then resist it. Your practice is not a means to an end. It’s fun exploring of who you really are. Once you enjoy your own company you won’t fight your practice so much, but it might take some time to get to that place of self love. It does exist. Just keep practicing. Show up and burn bright.
